July 9, 1995 Maxwell Supply Dear Sirs: The Executive Board of the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association met on May 18, 1995, and reviewed a recommendation from Fire Chief Gary Marrs, Oklahoma City Fire Department, com- mending you for your assistance following the disaster on April 19, 1995. The Board voted unanimously to present your company with the Award of Merit. The Award of Merit is given to Maxwell Supply for respond- ing in an exceptional manner to the rescue workers and craftsmen's needs for specialized materials. You remained accessible around the clock and made the material deliveries happen when they were need- ed during the rescue and recovery operation following the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. The Award of Merit is given for the performance of a service or deed that goes beyond the normal effort in saving or attempting to save the life of another person or contributing to the safety and welfare of the general public. Prior to June 9, 1995, this prestigious award had been given to only 42 people since its inception in March of 1983. The Oklahoma State Firefighters Association commends you for a job well done and we are pleased to present you with the Award of Merit. Sincerely, Jim Minx Executive Director |
